BVFD volunteer Firefighter Ari Katz returned today from over one week in Haiti on assignment with the Haiti Embassy in DC.
He was flown over to Haiti personally by John Travolta on his private jet (with John actually piloting).
During the day, Ari worked with US & Israeli Military, the UN & other NGOs, as well as Private Aid organizations on two critical missions: plan the installation of 18 high-volume water purification systems and performed infrastructure assessments & reconnaissance for deploying medical teams.
At night, he himself went to remote orphanages and hospitals to care firsthand for as many children as possible.
In addition to being an active BVFD Firefighter, Ari is a cadet in the United States Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol and is currently studying pre-med and International Relations at American University.
