Townhouse Fire on Tapestry Circle - 2nd Alarm

September 6, 2005

Just before 1900 hours this evening a Box Alarm was sounded for a townhouse on fire in the 3600 block of Tapestry Circle. Units had no problem determining they had a working fire as soon as they turned onto Columbia Pike. Rescue Squad 15 arrived on the scene with fire showing from a two story "piggy back" style townhouse with fire through the roof.

Engine 151 advanced a 350' 1-3/4" attack line while the members of Truck 15 opened up and laddered the building. Rescue Squad 15 conducted a primary search with negative results. Due to multiple exposures a second alarm was immediately requested. The fire was quickly brought under control with assistance from units from Beltsville and Laurel. The fire was confined to the townhouse of origin with minor extension to Exposures "B" and "C". Units operated on the scene for about three hours.
